  • Okay, so I have been horrible at writing on here the past couple of months - Emma has been keeping me busy, but it has been great! She will be two months old on the 24th - I cannot believe it!! It is going so fast! She is growing and her personality is coming more alive everyday.  We had a good Christmas-we stayed home and Curtis' parents came here. We just got back yesterday from our vacation to GA to visit my family.  It was a very long trip, but very good.  We got to see a lot of the extended family and some good friends. We split the driving into two days and Emma did great.  She does very well  in the car, she pretty much sleeps the whole time! We actually had to wake her up when we stopped, just so she would eat. This week we are washing clothes, getting things caught up at the office and then next week we head to Austin for officer's councils - so things haven't slowed down yet, but when we come back we should not have to go out of town again until Trevecca in May.

Things at the corps are going good too. We had a good Christmas, kettles were up from last year and angel tree went very smooth, thank goodness for good help! We are now diving into 2009 and looking foward to a great year.

Well, just in case you haven't seen any pics of Emma on my facebook, here are few - I have some vacation I will try to post later this week Enjoy!

  • Okay, I know it's been awhile since my last update - but I guess I just haven't too much to say.  Things are going good, only 17 more days until my due date!! Very exciting! We pretty much have the nursery finished, I will try to take some pictures soon.  Everything with me is going pretty good, I have had slightly high blood pressure, but the doctor is not too concerned, so I am not worrying about it.  Now we are just counting down the days until Emma is ready to make her arrival!  I am really praying she will not be late, (or at least too late) just because I want her to be born in November, not December. I know that may sound weird, but I just don't want her to have her birthday in same month as Christmas.

At the corps we are offically done with Angel tree applications and we are getting our trees out this week, most are going out on Wednesday - we want to give the public plenty of time to adopt an angel, we are hoping that will help in our return/adoption rate.  In the past they have not had to good adoption rate at all.  Curtis is gearing up for bell ringing, we did the Wal-Mart thing yesterday, and I think it went well, but now we are not ringing again until we start on the 21st.  Hopefully we will have good employees and lots of volunteers, it seems somewhat hard here to get people involved, but we are working on it.

Today we had women's sunday and it went well.  We didn't have as many women come as I would have liked, but it was still good.  Next Sunday we are having our corps Thanksgiving meal and then we are going to start decorating the corps for Christmas. Anyway, I will quit boring everyone now :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  • A Sad Day in the Kratz House

So this morning we had to say good bye to our wonderful friend and companion Stormy.  She was a wonderful cat and was too young to die, but she did have cancer and hung on alot longer than everyone thought she would.  She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed!  You can read Curtis' blog if you want more of the details.

  • So I had my first lamaze class this week-it was pretty interesting-we have five weeks total.  I don't know how much I will really learn from the classes, but I think they are going to be interesting and somewhat useful.  I also had a Dr. appointment and everything looks good - another appointment in 2 weeks.

This week has been hectic though - Curtis left Tuesday to go to Texarkana to help with all the people they have staying in their corps.  They are people that were bused there from Port Arthur, so they can't leave until the buses take them back, and they are not sure when that is going to be.  Curtis got put on the midnight to 8:00am shift - he said that he was actually able to stay awake-but there were no problems, which was good. We are hoping he will get to come home by Monday or Tuesday.

While Curtis is away I am having to get ready for our United Way kick off breakfast.  We have to have a table set up with items to give away and info. about our organization.  The breakfast is on Tuesday at 6:30am - and we are suppose to be there my 6 - not fun!  I am also trying to get everything organized and ready to go for Christmas. We are beginning our angel tree apps on October 17 and we will take them for two weeks.  Two weeks is great-since in McKinney we took apps for a month.

Anyway, that is enough meandering for now - Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
